Entering 2020

Online Entries are now open – see links below

The Covid Virus means that this year we will not be able to have our usual Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church, but to bring as much Covid-safe joy and festivity to our community as possible in these strange times, you are invited to enter the Brightlingsea Christmas Lights Trail and the Virtual Christmas Tree Festival.

Brightlingsea Christmas Lights Trail: If you are thinking of putting a tree in your garden or drive this year, or maybe decorating your house with lights, why not enter your address in the online programme for the Brightlingsea Christmas Lights Trail. Online entry is now open at brightlingsea.info. Entries close on 10 December.

Brightlingsea Virtual Christmas Tree Festival: You can enter this by taking some pictures of your tree and adding them to the Virtual Festival pages.  There is also the opportunity to donate to local charities online. Online entry for the Virtual Festival are now open at brightlingsea.info. Entries close on 10 December.

The judging categories for the Virtual Christmas Tree Festival are:

Favourite indoor tree submitted by a group
Favourite indoor tree submitted by an individual
Favourite indoor tree submitted by a young person’s group
Favourite indoor tree submitted by a young person

The Virtual Festival display and competition will open online on 12 December and the judging will continue until Sunday 19 December. Details of how to vote will follow.

There will be many other activities around town during December with the main events focused on the weekends of 12/13th and 19/20th December, further details of which can be found here.

The committee do hope that these events will bring some festive cheer to a very different Christmas and we hope to see you all back as usual for the 2021 Christmas Tree Festival
