7 Days To Go And The Countdown Begins

sneakypeak1There are just 7 days to go until the 2016 Brightlingsea Christmas Tree Festival and with entries closed as of midnight last night we’ve just been taking a look through some of the brilliant tree names.

Trying to guess what they will look like is all part of the fun, but with titles like Row-Tree, Pollock & Chips, OWL Be Home For Christmas, Conserve-a-tree, Jackanor-tree, Sew, Sew Frosty, and Daffodils at Christmas Time we are clearly in for some real treats. Here’s a sneaky peak of just one of our entries – do you recognise the building in the picture?

It’s going to be a frantically busy week as those who’ve entered trees put the finishing touches to their creations and the organising team make the big final push to prepare the church for the Festival.

refreshmentsladiesOur army of volunteer bakers is also swinging into action to create the hundreds of delicious home made treats that will be served at the refreshment station throughout the weekend.  As those who have visited before will know, part of the magic of any visit to the festival is enjoying a cup of tea and a piece of home made cake while you chat with friends and family or just sit and soak up the amazing atmosphere of the Festival and our beloved All Saints’ Church.

The Festival will be open from 10am to 6pm daily on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December.  There are also three evening concerts associated with the Festival with tickets for Friday night’s Music Has No Borders still available and Sunday’s family carols sing along being open to all (sorry Saturday’s Gala Concert is now sold out).
